”Breath of the forest” - an attempt to become a part of nature

This artwork is a collection of 3 lithographical art prints. They are made after the visit to the Aaseth forest, from sketches made at the site and as an attempt to grasp the feeling of being filled by the sounds, smells, light and sensation that appear when being in a small area of the forest for a long period of time.

The artist’s inspiration

The art prints are inspired by this experience and try to recreate this impression. When this is successful, the pictures in a way grow their way into the paper by themselves, using intuition, emotions and empathy, flowing freely without analysis of the result until the work is ended. By working this way, compositions create themselves naturally including classical composition theories as the Golden ratio, axis, balance and so on. These are aspects within the pictures that can be analysed from them, but comes naturally into them when nature and the human being are mirroring each other. The harmony is deeply based in both nature and in the nature of the human being, playing freely together; they make art we perceive as harmonic.
